Cuvioasa Parascheva s-a nascut in localitatea Epivat, Tracia, in prima jumatate a secolului al XI-lea. A parasit de tanara casa parinteasca, intrand in monahism la o manastire din apropierea Constantinopolului. De aici a plecat in Tara Sfanta, la Ierusalim, retragandu-se apoi in pustiul Iordanului, intr-o manastire de maici.<\/span><\/p>\n
